Melbourne's esteemed quality of graffiti and street art can be tracked to the influence and tutelage of one prolific artist, Phibs.

Initially raised in country New South Wales before moving to the city of Sydney, Phibs relocated to Melbourne due to its strong support in the local arts community and the increased opportunities for emerging artists.

Originating from a traditional graffiti background, Phibs endeavors to promote the value of the art form through outlets such as commissioned murals, youth workshops, exhibitions, and theatrical productions. His remarkably detailed murals can be seen around the inner city suburbs of Fitzroy and Collingwood as well as throughout the city itself. Whilst Phibs signature is intricate, stencil-like delineated lines and cut-back methods, his work is visibly influenced by the art and mythology of many cultures, both ancient and modern.
